I’m no journalist, but I do write about and promote startups nonstop through both the Founder Institute program, and our Founder Showcase event. Lately, it’s become clear to me that most startups make it incredibly hard for people to write about or promote them. They simply do not have the necessary information available on their websites, and many times I just give up.

In early 2010 John and Patrick began working on Stripe together. At the time Patrick was working on several side projects and they debated why it was so difficult to accept payments on the web. They sought to solve the problem and see if it was possible to make it simple – really simple. The next 6-months they played with it, showed it to friends, and saw how people interacted with it,...
One of the biggest myths in startups, that just can’t seem to be killed is this notion of working day and night and never sleeping. Over the past 12 months, the time since I have joined Buffer as Co-Founder, was also the time, where I have developed the most focused sleeping routine in my life.

This seems to be the standard mode of operation for most new entrepreneurs. They'll wait until they have an idea that they can pursue and that seems worth pursuing, and then pour all their energies...

I may not be a veteran of multiple Startup Weekends, but our one win means I am undefeated. Assuming you’ve heard of or been to a Startup Weekend, you may think Startup Weekend is about building the best business idea. You would be mistaken. Rather it is about building the best demo and presentation in 54 hours. At least if you want to win the whole shebang.
