Putting aside the questions of when you should find a technical person or whether that technical person should be a cofounder or an employee, today I'm going to focus on the question that Elizabeth and I hear over and over (and over) again: How do I find a technical cofounder??

One thing many companies — in any industry — can learn from Apple is the importance of simple pricing. If you make it easy for people to understand how much they’re paying, and what they’re paying for, it is more likely that they’ll buy it. Or perhaps this is driven more by the converse: if people are confused about how much they have to pay, they’re more likely not to. The decision to purchase...
And I went about proving that the "how" mattered as much as the "what" to help organizations and the people involved to be their best. Those organizations — Adobe, Symantec, Openwave, and others — they were the places where I made amends, silently, to the friend back at Autodesk, and where I learned that the "what" and the "how" actually needed to be combined if the results were going to last.

With all the attention shifting to freemium and charging directly for the product I think it's time to make the case for advertising as a valid way of creating or augmenting the income you make from a web property.

It’s the grand finale of the program, where entrepreneurs have a few minutes to show off what they’ve built in the hopes of raising a seed round to help their companies stay afloat for at least a few more months (and hopefully much longer).
I have an idea - I am going to start dating Julia Roberts. You're probably laughing at me aren't you. The idea of dating Julia Roberts is pretty far fetched - at a minimum I'm not a movie star, I'm likely not her type, and my girlfriend is likely to present a significant impedance to the entire process. Not to mention Julia Roberts is (statistically speaking) probably involved in a relationship...

Business success begins in the mind of the startup founder and his team. A winning startup is a team of entrepreneurs who build and run the business as an extension of who they are, rather than some extrapolation of the Google or Facebook model.

Working in an isolated environment without any external interaction can be a really dangerous thing. I developed my product in such an environment believing i knew everything, creating the equivalent to a Vogon spaceship for my startup. When i realized how wrong i was, not talking to people about it, i went on the other side, over-extroverting, hitting a wall and deciding to leave my country.
