Mr. Wohlstadter, 23, began funding entrepreneurs a year and half ago—just a few weeks after graduating from Harvard. A friend, Eliot Durbin, also in his 20s, was the driving force behind the creation of Penny Black, and brought Justin on to help source deals and manage investments for a wealthy Wall Street pro. The project grew from there.
