I am quite comfortable saying that luck and perseverance were two of the top factors for us. It wasn’t really the team, the product, the almighty traction, or the social proof. It’s a crazy crap shoot out there, and people are raising money and people are failing all around us. Teams with no traction are raising at huge valuations, and teams with tons of traction are crashing. It’s relationships. It’s community.
